Peter Gallway: Back from Japan

After the amazing experience of recording his new album “EN–Volume One” with Yoshiyuki Sahashi in Tokyo in November, including special guests Haruomi Hosono, Akiko Yano, Takeo Onuki, and Takako Matsu Peter has returned to Maine. He will be on tour with The Real Band - Mark Wainer (lead guitar), Andrea Re (vocals and percussion), Joe Wainer (drums), Mark Abraham (bass and vocals), Michael McInnis (keyboards) with a stop at The Hill Arts.

Raised in Greenwich Village, Peter has been called "a master of free verse" in the Boston Globe and has released more than twenty-five albums on Warner/Reprise and various independent labels. A founding member of The Fifth Avenue Band, albums have spanned styles from ‘60’s rock and roll, to “jazzy folk”, to atmospheric Americana. Along with his solo recordings, he has collaborated with acclaimed singer-songwriter Annie Gallup in the duo Hat Check Girl, and with British keyboardist Harvey Jones, as Parker Gray.

Peter Gallway has produced over fifty albums and special projects, such as the Grammy nominated Bleecker Street: Greenwich Village in the ‘60s, and Time and Love: The Music of Laura Nyro, and participated in Laura Nyro’s final album, Angel In the Dark. He has also produced projects for singer/songwriters Cliff Eberhardt, Annie Gallup, Louise Taylor, Aztec Two-Step, Wendy Beckerman, and Japan’s Bread and Butter, to name a few. He has had his music featured in film and theater and has had songs performed and recorded by Bette Midler, Kenny Rogers, Cliff Eberhardt, Bread & Butter, Kalapana and others.

Peter Gallway makes his home on the central coast of Maine. "Life is full and rich and let us stay strong and united in these troubling times."
